Fighting Cancer with Chi at 73
Terry, aged 73, was diagnosed with colon cancer 25 years ago. It was surgically removed and he was free of it until January 2002 when he had acute pain in the stomach. An examination showed the cancer in the colon spreading to the lymphatic system. He was unable to undergo chemotherapy because of very low blood count. He lost more than 30 lbs in just a few months and felt very weak.

In desperation he went on Chinese herbs for three months. Then a friend told him about Chi Dynamics breathing therapy founded by Sifu Anthony Wee. Terry immediately agreed and was taught by Senior Instructor Ong Kah Yong and Larry Yong, both volunteers of the Healing Chi Association of Malaysia.

Terry said: "I was asked to lie down and do diaphragmatic breathing with pursed lips which they called Chui method. The effect was almost immediate - a sense of well-being prevailed after the breathing exercises, which I did five times a day. My energy returned. Before, I could not walk properly. After a few months I could even drive myself. Four months after I started practising the Chi Dynamics exercises, the doctor who did the medical test told me that I am free of cancer. It was unbelievable. I know I feel good. I have gained back 18 lbs. I am now going on the Chi Dynamics Instructors Preparation Programme. I want to be an instructor to help others.'

I was given the very terrifying news that I was suffering from 4th stage lymphoma in March 2005.  The cancer cells around my lower abdominal region had grown so massive that it almost completely strangulated my right ureter, and the left one was already partially blocked.  To many people, this would have virtually been a death sentence, but, with my strong religious belief, I was not about to give in without a fight.

Hence, when a friend passed me a book called, “Cancer Care with Chi Dynamics”, I eagerly soaked up every little bit of information inside and taught myself to do the ‘block of breathing’ exercise.  Diligently I practised on my own for three 1-hour sessions everyday.  I found my energy level increasing and I was able to go through my six chemotherapy sessions without any of the horrible side effects that some other patients suffer.  Despite the late stage of my cancer, I was able to recover after just six chemos.  The amazing thing is, besides my cancer, I also have thalassaemia (a genetic blood  disorder) which meant that each time I took my chemo, my blood cell counts would drop drastically; but, the block of breathing exercise helped me to boost the levels up significantly so that I was able to take each chemo right on schedule, absolutely without any complications.  In fact, when I went for my last check-up, my doctor told me that my blood picture had never been better!

If I could achieve such fantastic results by doing the block of breathing exercise diligently on my own for two years, imagine what I can achieve by learning the other aspects of this amazing practice.  That is why I have just started to join the practice sessions at your centre.  I believe that discipline and consistency is the key.  With a strong religious practice, a very positive attitude, proper care and exercise, cancer need not be a death sentence.  I have survived to tell my story.  You can too!

Ms. Mary Liew’s experience with healing chi.

The tumour that afflicted me seriously affected my daily life. My coordination and balance were affected. My speech and movements were uncontrollable when seizures started.  The prognosis was that if left unoperated, I would beparalyzed within six months.

After the removal of the tumour in my brain, my health, balance and confidence was very much  compromised. Normal walking became a weary and lengthy drag. While under therapy in the hospital, I would stagger, huff and puff in the ‘gymnasium’ and be spent after ten steps!

That was until I switched into qigong rhythmic breathing as I had done whenever seizures occurred. Then my nerves steadied, my speed increased, balance improved and with all these, my confidence returned in direct proportion. That I was able to ‘hit’ the gymnasium for physiotherapy on the third day after the operation could only be due to my strengthened constitution after one and half years of consistent qigong breathing practices and exercises.

Lazing on the hospital bed, I had drawn also upon this style of breathing and tapping the chi of the morning sun that played upon my bed.

Progress was rapid to the amazement of the therapists who incidentally noticed and commented on my non too surreptitious rhythmic breathing as, “different from other people” and “It must be good”, was their conclusion. Evidently this unique breathing pattern had helped me. I had religiously been practicing it daily until it became an automatic reflex action. My condition improved vastly within a month from mincing baby steps, to climbing stairs (descending was hazardous!) and eventually to walks in the park, progressing from being fully accompanied to walking alone. Harnessing chi from the morning sun in the park helped build up my strength too.  Soon the seizures and tremors subsided. By the second month, I was climbing stairs normally and back to grinding work. By the fourth month, I was ‘flying’! I flew back to my home state to see my mother. And my brains were not splattered on the ceiling of the plane! My neuro surgeon was so pleased that he cancelled one of the three follow-up checks saying its “unnecessary now”.

Besides fervent prayers and blessings from the Almighty, I would like to conclude that the addition of this palliative and unique, rhythmic qiqong breathing had definitely boosted the rate and quality of my healing, more so when I was on very minimal medication. The greater oxygen intake could have but only helped my body heal itself. This is as it is in the philosophy of healing chi in Chi Dynamics. This I believed. That I could overcome such a massive neurosurgery so speedily and excellently and be none the worse after it, vastly impressed all around me. I AM still impressed!

MY TESTIMONIAL

AS I sit down to write this letter it was after my daily Qigong exercise feeling energetic, comfortable, calm, relax.

My left eye relieve from pain and soothing as if I don't have any problem on that eye.

Let me tell you, I am a diabetic for twenty years, lost my right foot below knee due to gangrene, left eye blind due

to glaucoma. Losing sight is a lost but having pain is unbearable, had to be on pain killers, eye drops. I use to do my own exercise but with little effect.

It was in 2006 mother's day gathering when my wife and I met this wonderful couple Mr & Mrs Ramakrishnan & Nimala and Dr Ramadassan they shared the wonders of Qigong and invited us for Sunday's practice. It was there we met another

wonderful guy Mr Simon , our instructor,a patient and a cool person who does't mind repeating the same things over and over

again on what we don't remember. We were taught block breathing and we were practicing only this for about two months daily,

we felt energetic, feeling lighter, healthier. The wonder was my left eye's redness, watery, pain, discomfort had gone and can go without pain killers, this gave more confidence. Then one day Simon told us we were ready for other exercises, the 5 compulsory

basic exercise, the 5 internal organs exercise, the 5 breathing methods.the 5 elements, The beauty is , I can do all these exercise sitting on a chair because I have a charcot left foot.

After practicing for about a year, now my blood glucose level is under control and my insulin intake has lessen and not on any eye

drops or pain killers. My wife used to have pains in eyes and a stiff finger joints all that have disappeared.

We like to thank the good friends, instructor and Chi Dynamics for helping us to have a healthier life......................

 A BIG THANK YOU
