Chi Dynamics

The Chi Dynamics system of Qi Gong is practised by many thousands of people of various races in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Britain. Even though diverse in cultures and religions, these people share a common quest in their pursuit of health and self-healing through Chi Dynamics.

There are many benefits to be derived from practising Chi Dynamics. At the most basic level, just practising the recommended breathing techniques already produces a higher oxygen intake which immediately improves blood circulation and enhances muscle tone.

Further exercises involving the five breathing techniques can stimulate and heal the inner organs. When correctly practised, these exercises combined with the proper breathing techniques can boost a person's physical and mental powers.

Emphasis is placed on developing a mind-body connection to acquire balance, in the sense that where the mind focuses, Chi will flow. During Chi meditation, the focus is on the rhythm of the breath. The mind-body connection is achieved by mentally focusing on the breath to lead the Chi along the energy channels of the body, reducing what is excessive, stimulating what is deficient and storing Chi in the body's main energy centre.

The mind-body connection is also used to relax the nervous system, which in turn allows the release of tension in the muscles.

Regular practise of Chi Dynamics breathing and meditation techniques produces the following effects:

  • Improves blood circulation and lowers blood pressure. Adopting the proper breathing techniques produces a higher oxygen intake leading to improved blood circulation and delivery of oxygen especially to the extremities.
  • Strengthens the auto-immune system. A combination of proper breathing techniques and exercises enhances lymphatic cleansing. The immune system is activated to produce a stronger resistance to disease.
  • Enhances the endocrine system. Regular practice of proper breathing and exercises enhances thermal regulation, improves digestion, absorption and bowel function as well as regulating all the endocrine glands, for example, the thymus, pancreas and gonads.
  • Reduces stress and tension. Meditation calms the mind and body and relieves stress and tension through the reduction of acidity (yin) and introducing alkalinity (yang) in our system.
  • Tones body muscle, enhances energy and stamina levels. The breathing exercises tone and strengthen various muscles and tendons in the body.
  • Improves general well-being.

The Chi Dynamics system of Qi Gong is unique in that it combines the best practices of three established martial arts and meditation disciplines into one regimen.

  • The Northern Shaolin Inner Power Qi Gong, which focuses on the circulation within the body, forms the basis of its breathing techniques.
  • The principles of Southern Shaolin Wu Mei Nei Gong (the Art of the Fighting Nun), which concentrates on strengthening the internal body, are adapted for techniques to develop the inner power of Chi.
  • Chi Meditation Self Healing Methods, which evolved from Parayama and Kundalini Yoga Meditation systems. From these systems comes the Chinese system of the flow of yang energy from the spine - Tu channel (central nervous system) and the yin energy flow of the front - Ren channel (autonomous nervous system), which we now call the microcosmic or inner orbit (small heavenly orbit, as the Chinese calls it) provides a powerful tool to trigger the self-healing mechanism with its complete yin and yang flow.

Chi Dynamics consists of two systems - the Healing Breath and the Warrior's Breath. Generally the systems are based on the Five Essentials:

  • Five Breathing Methods: Fu, Chui, Tu, Pi, Xi
  • Five Internal Organs: Lungs, Heart, Liver and Spleen, Digestive system, Kidneys
  • Five Elements of Vital Energy: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth
  • Five Types of Chi Flows: Blood, Heat, Electro-magnetic, Chemical, Vibratory
  • Five Basic Fundamentals
    - Song (relax, loosen, release of tension)
    - Ching (stillness, calmness, quietness)
    - Qian (humble, devoid of ego and pride)
    - Shi (inner smile, inner contentment and peace)
    - Yi (intent, mental focus, concentration and dedication)
